Light rail vehicles are usually equipped with interior bike racks and a maximum number of six bicycles are allowed inside a light rail vehicle. Up to four bicycles can be accommodated in the bike racks provided, with two additional bicycles allowed to stand on the floor in the center section.
Cyclists must be boarded through the center doors of each car, and they are restricted to the designated area in the center section or the turntable area of the vehicle.

BIKE LOCKERS

The VTA has installed new bike lockers throughout the its bus and light rail zones in order to make commuting easier for people who bike and ride. The VTA now provides 350 bike lockers at light rail and Caltrain stations, Park & Ride lots and transit centers for the use of transit riders. Although users of the lockers should provide a $25 refundable security deposit, there is no bike locker rental; the service is as good as being free of charge.
